Am I the only one who finds all this #Artemis stuff incredibly boring?

#Artemis2 #r4today

@DrEdBridges no lots of people do but they're simply not watching
@djstreethawk The majority of #r4today (that i heard anyway) has been about a spaceship taking off, rather than about [waves frantically at everything else going on in the world] which just seems… odd to me. Bread and circuses?

@DrEdBridges idk about what's on the radio news in the morning.
what I said about people not being interested in space news not needing to follow it applies to a lot of us regarding biased broadcaster outlet "news" reports about war, dickheads and their willy waving etc etc

We just turn that crap off.

Have you tried radio 3 in the morning? If you can mentally filter out the DJ it can be quite relaxing

@djstreethawk I want to hear the news and be well informed about what’s happening in the world. I just wish that the Today programme of all things would give more airtime to things that matter and less time to things that don’t.

@DrEdBridges "what matters" is subjective

Most of us have no direct or indirect influence over current events so news about if could be considered to not matter.

@djstreethawk By all means adopt that stance if you want to! 😂
@DrEdBridges it's really difficult to get excited about anything my country is doing right now. I'm normally a huge space nerd. These days I'm just exhausted and pissed off almost all the time. I managed to eek out a little bit of excitement watching the launch and following along on the radio feed on YT. But, I'm just...meh...

@DrEdBridges I don't think boring is the word. "Distasteful" is more fitting.

I really don't understand the excitement.

The programme is costing billions which could be better spent. Humans have already been to the moon. According to the BBC, the Americans are planning to mine the moon for minerals and build a station on the moon. It is not their Moon to mine!

We should sort out this planet rather than extending the destruction.
