The argument has merit, but the target audience is unclear. Soldiers will reject it because it does not take the enemy into account and thus comes across as manipulative. It fails to acknowledge the constraints faced by conscripted soldiers who are risking their lives. It would be a challenge to highlight the humanity and dignity of the individual – even in the ‘enemy’. Do you have any other examples?
