My first thoughts on The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are as before: nothing but Super Mario. Grade-A visuals, yes, but also the same ole Hollywood creep meddling in an overseas franchise, albeit slightly tamer here. And yet, like it or not, #Nintendo still knows how to keep us hooked throughout. It could just be sentimentalism, but as far as the game giant and its fans are concerned, who cares.

In short, it's a level-up from mediocre to passable, but the rating is essentially unchanged: mixed.
