Look, I just don't wanna talk about it okay? It's a frustrating conversation. I do not think any of you are bad people. I think you're doing the best you can, under some trying circumstances. I also think you're freaking out, and you have no real idea what to do to stop fascism or rather, how to work up the minerals to actually do it. So you NEED to fucking believe electing Dems is a viable path out.

I just don't agree. Your vote won't HURT me, so I don't fight you about it. But I don't agree.

You literally don't have an answer, you know you don't have answer, and all you know is "vote Blue" so you're chanting it like a mantra because the shit has hit the fan.

It's just... not gonna work. I'm sorry. I can prove it's not gonna work too because we already did precisely what you're saying is the way to stop fascism and fascism was not stopped.

I don't hate you. I just don't agree with you. And neither does evidence-based reality. I'm sorry.

It only takes one side to declare war. You want to stop nazis? They get real about what it means to actually stop fascism. If what you want to do is tell yourself and all your friends "if we just vote hard enough for Gavin Newsom it'll all work out" so you can feel like you have a plan? I don't really respect that and I'd rather not participate.

@AnarchoNinaWrites I got *so many* salty replies when, just before the new year, I said I wouldn’t vote for Newsom under any circumstances.

Given three years to just *find any other candidate*, the “vote blue no matter who” folks are already digging in their heels. There’s no urgency to fall in line, the election isn’t tomorrow; and so for me that gives away the game.

It isn’t about praxis or harm reduction, it’s about feeling entitled to my vote. It’s about holding us hostage.
