I picked up a Sony handicam from the parts/untested bin. The DV tape mechanism isn't closing, but I'm not too worried about that. Does 1080i recording!
Came with a battery and proprietary charger.
I did find the level 2 and 3 service manuals, as well as the maintenance manual for the tape mechanism.
I'll be saving that as my goodie for finishing up this database courseload.

If I'm feeling frisky, it may end up as my webcam for a bit. FireWire is still an amazing standard.
