I tell the kids I’ll tell them all I remember about the bicentennial then. Which is a bit — the bicentennial train was pretty cool. 🇺🇸

Or I missed macPaint being a thing? Seems like maybe it was all caps for a while early on, but I don’t recall camels.

Eugene Kim@daringfireball My sentiment of Apple’s computers vs the rest was similar to @siracusa but it was because I started with Apple’s computers. Growing up in Austin in the 80s, our elementary school had I believe the IIgs as all I rember is true B/W greyscale screens with mouse/keyboard and real sound playing Oregon Trail. Moving to the IBM PS/2 and its green command line (games had color but was poor) and internal beeper speaker in the 90s seemed absolutely ancient by comparison. Fun times!
