The company says police don't have access unless residents share it. That may or may not be true.

They also said they are unsure what camera they will use, but it wont be Ring and pointed out -

"disadvantages of this option as having “no direct integration with police department’s current digital management system” and notes that “investigative requests will need to be made through social media platforms” and this “may delay investigations”.
