@RoundSparrow I suspect that humans have a certain group dependency that plays into control and violence. Islam is about 800 years younger than Christianity. Roll back the clock 800 years on Christians and you have what is, essentially, the same behaviours. Roll back another 800, Buddhist crusades and domination. There is a maturation process that comes with those types of systems and part of that, sadly, is extreme violence to show everyone how peaceful and loving your group is.
