In the Zulu/Nguni culture beadwork has specific meaning in the shapes and colours. It is often called Zulu love letters because it is used to express a person's desires and emotions.
@grumpyoldtechie Yes, I am a traditional painter. Beadwork is simply one of my hobbies. Some of the jewelry in the photo is indeed traditionally Ukrainian and has historical roots. In the past, when beads were unavailable to ordinary people, artisans made jewelry using coral, shells, seeds, and small bones. When glass beads appeared, the jewelry took on the look shown in the photo. Wide, ornamented pieces are called “silyanky.”
