In Sanfords inaugural game, Yale graciously donated 1/2 of their proceeds from the game to #UGA to help retire the debt of the stadium bonds.
Over 30,000 filled the new stadium to see sophomore Vernon Smith score 2 touchdowns as Georgia defeated Yale 15-0.
In Sanford's inaugural game, Vernon "Catfish" Smith was responsible for scoring all of #UGA's points in a 15-0 upset over Yale in 1929.
