Slotkin says that the middle of the country is more reliable or more universal than the coasts, which makes very little sense. Chicago is more like Boise than it is like New York? there are no poor people in CA? what is she talking about?
of course what she's actually doing is using coasts/middle as a dogwhistle for everyone else/cishet Christian white ppl
and she's doing that because many D leaders are uncomfortable as the leaders of a multiracial coalition and would like different voters than the ones they've got.
