Wake up, prices are rising, wages are stagnant. The bridge downtown is rusting away. There used to be a trolly line and a bus line but now it is gone. The schools are shabby, the park is choked with weeds, the swings are broken. But, we live in such a wealthy country, right? Where *is* all that wealth?

@futurebird this sums up my political experience as a millennial. 30 years of giving up wages, education, healthcare, the public realm, for the sake of "the economy".

And none of the politicians ever explain why we must make these sacrifices if not in order to produce the things we care about and need to survive.
