☄️ Comet C/2026 A1 (MAPS) is heading for the Sun! On April 4, it will pass just 160,000 km from the Sun's surface. It could flare to magnitude −3 (brighter than Venus!) or disintegrate entirely. Discovered Jan 13, 2026 in Chile. If it survives, it may be visible to the naked eye April 6–10 near the western horizon after sunset.
