The #Magic are back to take on the #Suns. Surely things can't get worse, right?

The #Magic get a couple of steals as the #Suns are being sloppy with the ball. The crowd is already kind of engaged just booing Dillon Brooks for some reason. He picks up an early tech (as does Devin Booker and Desmond Bane). The energy is good early.

2-2, 10:31 1st

Bane with a fastbreak layup. I believe it is going to happen. #TeamDesDunk

And Wendell Carter turned and sealed his man with Booker on him and drew a foul!

Two early fouls for Dillon Brooks and Devin Booker. #Suns have been handsy. #Magic playing agressive.

8-2 ORL, 9:36 1st

The #Magic make their first sub as Wendell Carter picks up a foul trying to establish post position. #Magic started to falter on Sunday when they broke their starting lineup. So this is a big moment.

Starts with a Magic steal and da Silva and-1 though.

14-6 ORL, 7:20 1st

Maniac Suggs is here. He missed a floater and caught Booker for a back tap steal. It rolled too quickly down the court and Suggs dove to try to save it to Paolo but ended up rolling over the ball and knocking it out anyway.

#Magic have four steals already.

17-8 ORL, 6:23 1st

The early foul trouble is a big deal for the #Suns. Just allows them to be less physical on the lock. And they are at such a size disadvantage that they need some leeway.

#Magic have 3 offensive rebounds, 12 points in the paint and 7 free throw attempts.

27-13 ORL, 2:39 1st

The #Magic led by 14... but a couple of bad fouls and this second unit that really does not have much offensive force has let the #Suns cut the lead in half. This happens a lot. Starters build a lead, bench gives it away and then some.

28-21 ORL, 0:48 1st

The #Magic played with loads of energy and were active on defense. That is exactly what they needed after Sunday's game. But a sluggish finish to the quarter is a reminder that there is still work to do.

Magic lead the #Suns 28-21 after one quarter.

The #Magic have done a really good job getting the ball to the post with the #Suns playing so small. But the other side of that coin is Moe Wagner struggling to track Rasheer Fleming. Fleming outleaped him for a board and layup and has hit a three.

44-34 ORL, 8:06 2nd

The #Suns are upping their pressure and the #Magic are struggling to handle it. And then the dumb mistakes have also followed. Moe and Suggs miscommunicated and turned it over on an inbounds. Jett Howard fouled Goodwin for a 4-point play. Bad stuff right now.

44-39 ORL, 7:35 2d

#Suns were -15 with Booker on the floor in his first stint. He returns to the court with the Suns down 10. #Magic went -10 with Booker on the bench. And that really cannot happen. Orlando giving away some great effort in this quarter.

44-39 ORL, 7:35 2nd

The #Suns couldn't stop fouling in the first. The #Magic can't stop fouling in the second quarter. Pretty much the formula if you want to let a team back into the game. #Suns are really working hard on the glass knowing how much the #Magic are switching.

44-39 ORL, 7:13 2d

This has been a physical game. But the officials also have a short fuse. Technical foul to the #Magic's bench for getting up after Suggs didn't get a foul call. The Magic are challenging the out of bounds to get that proximate foul.

Magic unraveling some.

44-40 ORL, 7:03 2d

A Paolo Banchero dunk helped spark the #Magic to re-extend the lead back to 12. Good energy again. But the #Magic are still struggling to keep the #Suns off the offensive glass. Three cracks at it led to a O'Neale three.

56-47 ORL, 4:08 2nd

The #Suns are going small to end the second quarter.

WE HAVE A PAOLO AT CENTER LINEUP ALERT

#Magic still holding on here. They need to be up 10+ at the half. Been a parade to the foul line this quarter.

65-54 ORL, 1:20 2nd

Desmond Bane gets the rebound on a wayward three and hits a floater to end the first half. The #Magic complete a really energetic first half with a big buck. They lead the #Suns 70-56 at halftime. Best they have looked in a long time.

#Suns open the quarter with a 7-0 run on three makes. #Magic with two offensive foul turnovers and a bad miss from Wendell Carter.

Lead is cut in half. Really poor start to the quarter.

70-63 ORL, 10:30 3rd

And that is three turnovers to open the quarter. The #Suns are on an 11-2 run and have the #Magic's lead down to five. Just super imprecise. Starting the third quarter has been a problem for a long time.

72-67 ORL, 9:45 3rd

The #Magic are playing the refs too much. They are letting a lot more go in this quarter than they did in the first half. But the #Magic are looking to the officials for relief. Not adjusting or playing the game.

76-71 ORL, 7:35 3rd

The #Magic just really cannot get out of their own way.

On offense, it is literally where players still run into each other's space. It's turnovers. And then it's dumb fouls like the one Suggs just made on Booker shooting a three. Door is open for the #Suns.

80-77 ORL, 6:06 3rd

Again, the #Magic keep getting in their own way here. No reason to foul Devin Booker in the backcourt when you are in the bonus. And it is Tristan da Silva's fifth foul. Too much foul baiting and not enough playing. #Suns are too good to keep making mistakes.

86-80 ORL, 2:54 3rd

Devin Booker is heading to the line for his 18th and 19th free throw. He is 16 for 19 from the line tonight. He is 10 for 12 from the line in the third quarter. A lot of these are just dumb fouls from the #Magic.

88-83 ORL, 2:03 3rd

Back-to-back threes from Desmond Bane and Jamal Cain got the lead to eight. But the #Suns go on an 8-0 run to close the third quarter and we are tied at 94 after three quarters. #Magic were sloppy from the start and never found their groove consistently. It's a game in the 4th.

The #Magic don't have a choice. They need to come back with Paolo and their starters early with 9:06 to play if they want to win this. Offense is too hard with so few attackers. But Suggs has six TOs & Paolo is 4/10. They've been good, but not a sure thing.

100-98 PHO, 9:03 4th

There are only two starters in this game that do not have at least three fouls -- Jalen Green and Collin Gillespie -- in case you were wondering how this game is going. It has been a brawl from the start. #Magic are trying to execute and hang on.

109-107 ORL, 4:08 4th

Been a scrap tonight. This is the kind of game you'd be confident in the #Magic getting stops last year. Big character check as Mosley uses his use-it-or-lose it timeout. Magic are still holding off the #Suns. Going to be about execution.

109-107 ORL, 3:06 4th

Tristan da Silva got a wide open three and took a step in to help with the rebound. Archie Goodwin released and got a wide-open layup. Desmond Bane called for a foul trying to block the shot and forcing a miss. Details.

109-108 ORL, 2:59 4th

The #Magic had several possessions to extend the lead to five. But could not get shots to go down -- both good and bad ones. The #Suns have missed a lot of open looks, including a wide-open one from O'Neale. #Magic hanging on and need one more basket.

111-108 ORL, 0:17 4th

And there is the one that should clinch this thing. Desmond Bane with a falling away floater with 6.7 seconds left to give the #Magic a five-point lead. Crowd is feeling how big this one is and the defensive stand the #Magic made.

113-108 ORL, 0:06.7 4th

Devin Booker gets free off an inbounds and drains a three after hesitating over Suggs. Here we go again... all the #Magic have to do is inbound and make free throws to end Free Throw Awareness Month with a win.

113-111 ORL, 0:03.1 4th

Tristan da Silva caps Free Throw Awareness Month with a pair of free throws and the #Magic just have to not foul and provide a little resistance and they should win. The gamblers won't be happy. But who cares about them?

115-111 ORL, 0:01.1 4th

It was not pretty. You would like a cleaner effort. But the #Magic played some gritty defense in the fourth quarter and got stops when the offense stalled. Great bounce-back effort overall. You take them where you can find them right now. #Magic defeat the #Suns 115-111.
