Not bad for housewives assembling drones in the kitchen, or what do you say, Rheinmetall? All these stupid takes that "oh, sure, Ukraine is doing great, but OUR technology..."
Our technology is barely on the battlefield.

RE: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:imihoi76dq74u5jlfnolakmv/post/3miefmbnwqk2aOver 80% of kills in Ukraine are drones. The drones are the military love-child of the artillery piece and the sniper rifle. If you think that our psycho-expensive fancy-kit that was made more to impress and cost a lot and be bought at low volumes can meet this challenge, you're insane.
Do we need a mix? Yes. Can drones win a war alone? Of course not. But if you can't swarm drones and defend against drone-swarms you are doomed on a modern battlefield.
You need:
1. Millions of drones in all shapes and forms.
2. Tens of thousands of various air defence pieces
3. Thousands of long range precision missiles.
4. Then everything everything else.
And the drones must be cheap – and fast to improve!
That's what Ukraine is doing.
The tanks aren't even making it to the front line anymore. They're not obsolete, but they're not the spearhead any more. They're a defensive weapon and a fist you can use if you get temporary drone and air supremacy in an area.
And we can't wait two decades for a new cruise or ballistic missile.
One very important part of (4) "everything else", btw, are IFVs. They genuinely are super useful in supporting, transporting and keeping soldiers alive.
But even for medevac and re-supplying troops, Ukraine is more and more relying on ground drones.
So think about that.
I don't think people who haven't been paying close attention to the frontline updates from Ukraine even have the faintest idea about how drones and electronic warfare and anti-drone technology has evolved and completely changed the rules.
