@doombloomart Yeah :/ I did lose touch with a couple folks when I left. I'm sad that folks don't use other means of communication.

A lot of folks local to my area use it or Facebook to host their art and well. It's unfortunate.

@jankhambrams Yeah it's very unfortunate :( I had a semi well goong Twitter account before all the laughable shit happened, never managed to find the same size of audience again (and lost touch with some pretty good acquaintances) but I've been leading a happier life

@doombloomart Likewise here. I've lost touch with a buncha folks. Probably will happen again whenever I find an alternative to keep in touch with a few important folks and delete my Discord.

@doombloomart We really, really shouldn't have. It's so encompassing of so many things that used to be other, standalone platforms. Like I used to use a forum, team speak, and steam chat all for different purposes to keep up with one community I was in.

Now? I knew Discord would be a pain one day but didn't anticipate *this*.

@doombloomart I kind of wonder if this is the difference between people I see thrive here and people who bounce off for larger pastures. I think if you treat it as a place to be part of a community, you’ll do quite well. If you treat it as a place to gain an audience, it won’t work for you at all (especially if your approach is engagement-bait).

I suspect a lot of people on IG fall into the latter camp.

@bytex64 Well said! I had to lose some habits from other platforms too when i came here (and gain some others), but i prefer it that way. I don't want to be so transactional all the time with the stuff i post because it's "good for engagement".
