I submitted feedback to Apple about this back on October 21, 2021. This bug is about to be 5 years old now. Sad to see how Mail has just become Abandonware on the Mac. :(

Michael Tsai@marioguzman Not exactly sure when this started, but I think it’s been way longer than that. Just tested, and it’s left-aligned even on Mojave, just less noticeable because with fewer toolbar buttons the window is narrower.
