One day car manufacturers will figure out that daylight savings time exists.
@martijnbraam Maybe they will when DST will have finally become obsolete.
@lanodan @martijnbraam cant wait for when we finally abolish DST, and we instead have to deal with all the devices annoyingly changing their time twice a year
@martijnbraam My car has a toggle setting that simply says Summertime and does what one would expect. I even updated the software of my alarm clock to have one of these too.
@martijnbraam That looks suspiciously like Android 4.x. Which I kinda hope it isn't.
@Peetz0r as far as I know it isn't android. But it's certainly heavy inspired by the style of it.
@martijnbraam no gps, no interwebs. Just noticed today picking up the kid I should probably set the time towards summer... With just two buttons to do it, I'll likely do it wrong and will have to spin it around at least 25 hours.
@martijnbraam Insert Aragorn #LOTR "Today is not that day" meme here.
@martijnbraam Mine accounts for daylight in the US but it requires an active connection to OnStar's servers. Once I removed the fuse for OnStar so it can't talk out, it stopped automatically changing lol.
@martijnbraam Hopefully DST is binned first. Cannot happen a day too soon.
@martijnbraam I think they have to figure out first how to update timezone information regularly: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubuntu/comments/2ur4s7/not_a_tech_support_question_just_one_out_of/
@martijnbraam I just found the following video in the comments which explains how difficult this seemingly easy thing you are asking for really is: https://youtu.be/-5wpm-gesOY?is=kydOFLQsD41VTtFb
