Not enough people know about the unbelievably delightful app Transit. It’s perfect for city dwellers, much more intuitive than Apple Maps, and worth a try with news that Apple will soon start serving ads in Maps. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/transit-subway-bus-times/id498151501

@mergesort That is what I use when I take the bus here, but I find Google Maps is better at finding routes for some reason.
@mergesort I use it almost every day!
@mergesort
The Transit app has saved me from imagining phantom buses around the corner to my bus stop, or needing to constantly crane my neck out into the road!
@mergesort This app is how I discovered SimcoeLinx, a rural bus line that connects a few disparate communities with very affordable transit. The app that keeps on giving!
@mergesort I can see how it might be good if I were the one using public transit, but I have to say it's really abysmal to *follow along* as someone else (ie, my kids) are on a bus. I find the UI almost impossible to understand.
@davedelong Is that a thing you can do in any transit app?
@mergesort @davedelong Depending on the city Transit.app shows vehicles in real time. If you know where the person is via Find My Friends and what line they’re on, you can just watch the vehicle move through the map.
@jn @mergesort @davedelong You can watch in real time if the user is using “go” mode
@mergesort @davedelong Yes, assuming their children have “go” enabled and in use in the Transit app. But I would think something like Apple’s Find my Friend would work better
@mergesort Happy to be a paying user
