Transphobia doesn’t start at wanting to harm trans people.

It starts at hoping your child won’t be trans.

@aesthr No, it does not. If your child is trans, life will be a lot harder for them, especially in the current political climate. Parents can legitimally hope that their kids won't have to go through all that just to be themselves.

@edgeofeurope oh wow, thanks for mansplaining the world to me, an actual trans woman who is very familiar with how fucked up it is.

No fuck off

@edgeofeurope You, and those thinking alike, are part of the problem. This kind of thinking legitimates transphobia. It shows, that transphobia is considered as a valid behaviour.

@agturcz This kind of thinking acknowledges that being trans is not easy, and that there is a lot of discrimination of trans people out there.

Any parent hopes their kids will have an easy life.

It's perfectly normal.

It legitimizes nothing.

@edgeofeurope That's your opinion. You're free to have it. But just to make it clear, regardless of what you think about yourself, you're not an ally. Enjoy the rest of your life.

@edgeofeurope @agturcz as long as you’re wishing for things you have zero control over, how about wishing for a world without transphobia instead of wishing for a world without trans people?

bc i can tell you one thing: parents wishing for their kids to not be trans does not make the lives of their kids any easier. and if their kids turn out trans against their wishes, they’ve only made things more difficult.

@aesthr
Or hoping they won't be autistic.
