Y2K not being a big deal was because thousands (likely millions) of people and companies did a lot of work for years to make it a non-issue.

(I was there - one company I worked at had over 1200 internally written applications pre-y2k - in the mid-1990’s web 1 era they employed over 2000 full time programmers. After y2k remediation we had it down to 600 apps which had all been updated and tested

@Rycaut I’m aware of all the work that went into it. My clients put a fuck ton of work in. My comment was really more tongue in cheek, so no offense intended. I’m not a programmer, architect or computer science guy but I’ve worked with those folks for 40 years and as Max was saying there is always something. @maxleibman
@lawyersgunsnmoney @maxleibman understood - and thanks for the clarification - it is actually an example however of when a whole lot of people do the hard work really amazing things can get done - but also don't "seem" like they were hard or difficult or much happened - most people heard all the hype and over the top predictions - then saw that not much happened and assumed "it was all just hype" - in many cases not realizing that it was lots of people working hard that led to it being so
