I wish there was a demo version I could play just to check that my laptop can handle it lol
well it's not gonna get any cheaper. might as well
HELP blue prince frozen during the intro scene
I think it genuinely needs the memory lmao
it skipped the intro scene... I literally have no backstory
helppp I reduced all the graphics and started a new game but now it's just a black screen
lmao I built myself into no doors left. I guess the goal of the game is to not run out of doors to manage to build that 46th room
I have no idea what I'm supposed to be taking notes of
well it's a good thing that days start anew because my entire first day did not get saved when I OOMed lol
ok running out of doors happens really fast
omg dramatic security room cutscene
HELP I can't read the text
help I solved the billiards room but I'm not sure what I did
HELPPP I keep OOMing...... when it says it needs 16 GB of RAM to run that's written on a BLUE MEMO
who just has a whole-ass chapel in their house
wandering around in blue prince getting -1 coined repeatedly call me chapel roam
okay no but genuinely why does Blue Prince ask for that much memory
the last game I played that was a 3D type thing was Stray which did work with my meagre resources, at least well enough for me to give up because of skill issues on my part and not on my laptop's part
and that's like an actual action game
I do see however that Stray only asks for 8 GB of memory
(actually the last 3D game I played must have been Half-Life but that requires 2000s resources lmao)
no that's not right. surely I played Outer Wilds after Stray
but I also gave up on Outer Wilds because the controls were too hard on a keyboard lol
you have like 2.5D games and then you have actual 3D games
anyway just because the game offers 780 pixel resolution doesn't mean it's actually playable at 780 pixel resolution. personally I don't think you should be offering a resolution at all if the text cannot actually be read at that resolution
hot take but a game like Blue Prince should not need 16 GB of RAM. what are you rendering, the entire outside world through the windows of every room that has been drafted?
I want video games with worse graphics requiring fewer resources
ran outta doors again
I feel like I'm playing this game wrong... I don't have any more information than I did from last time
waouw that's the furthest I've reached
still no idea what I'm doing tho
ok the alzara cutscene was real cool
I was just thinking if I were old money with a 45-room estate I would also renovate all of my rooms into this vast array of hobbies but I just found out that it's actually the servants who develop his photos for him :/
damn 45 rooms and the guy's got his groundskeeper living in a tiny hovel on the grounds? is Herby the bad guy in this game
I did the pool/pump puzzle and the boiler room puzzle today those were fun
I also got the garage working after the boiler room (hence the outdoor room) and also came across the lab and got the grotto open (not sure what that is yet!)
well idk what everyone was talking abt with the note taking bc I've only written down two things and one of them is "red flag tied to black cat" lmao
I think this is the furthest I've progressed so far! first time having reached the antechamber (there's nothing there?) with a high density of drafted rooms too instead of a long snake northward, and also the most rooms I've built in one day
I'm glad that SOME things are permanent at least lol. although if I'm gonna have to redo the boiler room puzzle every time that's gonna pmo
I forgive this game for eating up all my ram. I still don't think it needs all that but I'm finally progressing and going somewhere with this game
I got the room drafting guide from the library and ngl I'm not a big fan of the strategy component of the game where I need to plan ahead and coördinate but it seems like there's multiple ways to achieve an outcome so it's ok. I mean there's also multiple days to work across but it's annoying to spend so much time in a run only to get yourself stuck
(has only played agricola as their sole german-style board game) blue prince is like if agricola was a video game
do the parlour room games get increasingly more convoluted bc I can do them in my head so far and I haven't been tricked but I'm wondering if they can actually get complex enough that you need to sketch a truth table on a piece of paper
I JUST GOT TO THE BASEMENT omfg
I need to do that ALL OVER AGAIN WAAAAAAH
