@spikybaddie I can only think of two times when spam became anywhere close to an "issue" and both times it was over within days. That's in 3 years. There are good automated black list services (the name will come to me... it's a website.... @jrenken knows...)
Honestly I think a self hosted server is the easiest route for moderation over big servers
