New #HacksterCafe this week, ft. @bunnie : The Dabao microcontroller (powered by Baochip-1x) just wrapped up its @crowdsupply campaign!
This chip helps make secure features easy to build and standardize across the hardware industry. We'll chat about its open "BIO" (Baochip I/O) and package that's easy to inspect via IRIS (infra-red in-situ) imaging, plus other projects bunnie has been working on 👀

@bunnie @crowdsupply

So I'm watching through the Hardwear.io talk about IRIS (infra-red, in-situ) inspection of silicon chips and it's SO COOL! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5CR-7TJtm0

I've done a bunch of IR camera mods for aesthetic reasons before, and now I really want to fix up one of my cheapo magnifying cams with an IR light and look at some stuff. Might stream later tonight? We'll see...

@bunnie

...Alright, I maaaayyy have gone a bit off the rails... Did a quick live-mod of a magnifying USB webcam, to remove the IR filter so I can try this IRIS silicon-inspection trick 😸

@alexglow @bunnie this sounds cool. Could I likely see damaged parts when inspecting broken gear PCBs?
