Doing a full relisten of Midnight Burger, now in mid Season 3 and enjoying it (even) more the second time around. Just finished Your Mom and have some refinements to my previous thoughts as someone who lived almost 15 years in St Louis. 1) still thinking that the diner landed on/replaced Eat-Rite. It doesn’t exactly fit but it amuses me more each time the word “slinger” gets used but not for slinger. https://www.weopenatsix.com/ @midnightburger #MidnightBurger
Midnight Burger

When Gloria took a waitressing job at a diner outside of Phoenix, she didn't realize she was now an employee of Midnight Burger, a time-traveling, dimension-spannin…

@midnightburger 2) I’ve changed my mind on the crucial question of where Ava went to high school. Just from adult personality I would have thought Burroughs, maybe Ladue, but that doesn’t work when you meet her mom. Now I’m thinking Maplewood-Richmond Heights or U City. But I’d enjoy an argument for anywhere else. #MidnightBurger #StLouis
“We must leave this place…it is an accursed quagmire.” as someone who moved to StL for a 2, maybe 3 year postdoc and 10+ years later had a house and kids who were born there, yeah I feel you Zebulon. to be fair there was a lot to like about StL, including some of the best people I’ve ever known. Am I ever moving back? hahahaha no no no #MidnightBurger
A better location fit would be in The Loop, either where BreadCo used to be across from Seoul Taco, or the old Church’s at Skinker. Either of those has room for the parking lot, enough foot traffic to make the episode work, and nobody would be surprised they were open one day and gone the next. #MidnightBurger #StLouis
though I am making the mistake of thinking what The Loop was like 20 years ago not 50. I don’t know the local history well enough to identify the right neighborhood, so I’m back to Eat-Rite (now Fleur STL?!?)
