( this is largely inspired by a similar post by @viscountexx )

Fedi reply to this post with questions you have that you would like to ask me, which can be ether related to, or unrelated to sex work and what I do, kink, or anything else in general, and I will answer them below!
@GoddessPeach
I'm very curious about how you find your audience, how you make yourself discoverable to your audience, and whatever else a findom needs to do in order to findom efficiently and properly on Mastodon. I'm a furry techdom findom myself and today's my first day on the platform, so I'm a little lost. If you think this information is worth money, I could cough up some money for it.
@Puro This is a very good question! So on the fediverse I find that its slower moving a lot of the time then say, twitter, there's much less "omgomg yes please do anything to me" (who then instantly vanish) type of people here, it seems a lot more grounded here.

And I think thats a good thing, and ultimately why I prefer it here to the likes of twitter. My audience tends to be built over time, usually more akin to friends and mutual partners. So how that actually works in practice is that i will just interact with other peoples posts, and they interact with mine as they see fit.

Discoverability tends to come from hashtagged posts and people following those hashtags interacting with posts, and word of mouth through people boosting posts (this works similarly to retweeting), rather then algorithmically driven. So, i don't actually do findom on here per say, I use this space more as a means to have a public presence, sometimes people will reach out in direct message, and I will then branch off elsewhere to actually do the findom.

As for being new to the fediverse, I would say to interact with your local server initially, and reply to posts you feel you have something to say on, it doesn't even have to be related to furries or techdom, just any hobbies really (i would also say kinks are hobbies, by and large). At least that's largely what helped with me. Sometimes following others will also lead to them looking at your profile and following you based on what they see. Having some pinned posts also is probably useful so people can see more about you and what you do, then you could fit into your bio, and having a fleshed out bio also helps a bit.
@GoddessPeach
I see
I was hoping to do a bit of market research to better understand how my bio should be formatted and whatnot
I tried looking for posts under the tag #techdom, #findom and some other ones, but I couldn't find anything. I know I need to follow people and I have followed a few already, but my main problem is having the ability to find what I'm looking for. I know it exists out there
@Puro There's not really any hard or fast rules on how it should be formatted, I think that largely depends on the server your on as to how much you can do in terms of charter limits. But the main thing people look for is an overview of what sort of posts to expect from you, often an indication of some form of age is also a good idea, but the exact age doesn't matter, just that you are an adult, and if you want to be specific on the age range.

Ah, try the broader one, kink / kinks / nsfw maybe? That might yield at least some results to get you started, you can also post to those hashtags then anyone who is following those tags can see your post.

There is a bit of a discoverability issue on the fediverse though, but you are quite correct what you are after is out there. There are furries on the fediverse so the furry related hashtags could also be a good place to look, possibly?
@GoddessPeach
Like what can you expect in a bio? I have an ad that I feel pretty much nails my expectations of subs, but I think that goes in a post rather than a bio. This is also like my first time really diving into the world of social media because I just look at Twitter and Instagram and I see how it ruins people :/
So on top of the Fediverse being new to me, I'm new to building a profile as well
@Puro I would certainly put the ad into a pinned post but keep your bio for talking about yourself. It can be overwhelming no doubt. Certainly I do agree too. the fediverse is probably the better social media experience, at least comparatively against the likes of twitter, instagram etc.

That does sound like a lot! So how i would approach that would be to think about, when you interact with someone what kind of things do you think they should know about you? That should help you to have a good base of what to put.
@GoddessPeach
All the pets I have at the moment were because I threw an ad into a Discord server or Telegram channel
@Puro That makes sense, yeah, i had issues with discord myself, errm, no it was more of a people issue, who happened to be on discord, but it can work for some no doubt.
@GoddessPeach
Alright, well this was very informative, thank you very much for your time :3
@Puro Of course, you are most welcome!
