About a million years ago I went to a Palm Pilot developer conference in London and learned first hand how limited a platform it was. Still loved my little Palm Pilot, but went with Windows CE for development.

@GrantMeStrength

I worked at Palm. Crazy place.

@DanHugo probably had to be to make something that influential.

@GrantMeStrength

I was there for the Pre and Pixie phones, but there were plenty of people from the Pilot days (and the WinCE days).

I was at SCM Microsystems (Smart Cards) for the USR Pilot, and Umax working on Mac Clones for the Palm III… it took me a while to get to Palm, but definitely an experience.

(Umax had expansion/upgrade cards for their clones, per a post you made about that elsewhere)

@DanHugo @GrantMeStrength I still think the Pre is one of the best phones I ever had. Loved that little thing.

@jamesog @GrantMeStrength

Sprint as a launch partner, though.

@DanHugo @GrantMeStrength I’m in the UK, it was on O2 here. Not quite so bad. Although I did have to get a special thing to trick it into think I was using an O2 SIM as I was locked into a contract with another telco 😄

@jamesog @GrantMeStrength

The Pre was pretty hackable… almost too hackable.

The Konami code was only the beginning.
