"More than 8 million people protested against the Trump administration at more than 3,300 No Kings events [in all 50 states] across the US and in more than a dozen countries on Saturday, according to organizers. It’s the greatest number of protests in a single day in US history, said Britt Jacovich, the deputy communications director for Move On, one of the organizers behind No Kings."

Third No Kings protest draws 8 million worldwide to push back on Trump administration

Anti-authoritarian rallies, in all 50 states plus more than a dozen countries, were the largest number of protests in a single day in US history

The Guardian

"The left-leaning protests with the Revolutionary-era call against President Donald Trump as a would-be monarch and authoritarian had the broadest geographic reach of any single-day protest in the United States in more than a half-century. They included not only familiar precincts in New York and Los Angeles and Austin but also communities in all 50 states and every congressional district, including rural and Republican territory."

Red flare for Trump: 'No Kings' rallies a show of political force

With a Revolutionary-era slogan, the protests had an historic geographical reach across the country. What does that mean for November?

USA TODAY

"The organizers' crowd count, not yet verified by independent analysts, put the total at 8 million people, topping the 7 million estimated at the last 'No Kings' day, in October 2025. This time, there were more events scheduled − 3,300 versus 2,700 − and larger crowds reported in some places, boosted in part by opposition to the war in Iran."

"Organizers said two-thirds of the participants who signed up lived outside big cities, with a 40% increase over last time in those from suburban, small town and rural addresses."

No Kings protesters are wiring a movement built to win

Six things the DC No Kings survey data—and the pivot to May Day—tell us about a resistance that keeps stepping up.

The Cause

Sharing samples of disparaging, demeaning, minimizing commentary on No Kings from major news outlets (looking at you, New York Times), Rebecca Solnit warns,

"Be careful about where you get your news. Watch out for who's downplaying what might be the biggest protest in US history."

"What we don’t see are pro-Trump rallies filling the streets of America. We don’t even see massive counter protesters to the No Kings rallies. …

Here’s the reality: Polling tells us why there are no massive pro-Trump rallies. His approval is at the lowest of this term—with both an AP poll and Quinnipiac poll this week showing him with 38% approval."

No Kings saw millions in the streets. So where are the pro-Trump rallies?!

There is a reason you don't see them!

The Dean's Report by Dean Obeidallah

"Worse for Trump, a new Fox News poll found an all-time record high disapproval of Trump at 59%. (Fox News ignored this poll on their own air!) ….

However, despite that reality of Trump being horrifically unpopular on every issue and personally, corporate media still covers, 'All Trump, All the Time.'”

"I always circle back to what I believe are Trump’s two main attractions to his cult: cruelty and bigotry.

There is a robust group of truly terrible people in America who have illustrated there is no known pain or sacrifice to our civil liberties or pocketbooks that they won’t absorb just for the satisfaction of watching some poor kid of color go without something they don’t think he or she should have."

RALLYING POINT

There are millions and millions more of us patriots in America, and it is vital we keep showing it

Enough Already

"This is why Saturday’s No Kings rallies were so important. They provide a community for people who are tired, scared and just fed up with it all. There is nothing like rubbing shoulders with other people who share your concerns and core beliefs. They are a celebration of the good and decency that is still out there in America in abundance, and we need to shout that out."

"I've seen some people saying this is ridiculous: You're looking at signs. This is you each other on the back.

That's not the point. The point is a movement of joy and a movement of solidarity and community goes a lot further than screaming at everybody."

"And how do you show community? You show it by millions of people standing up and being willing to stand up for what they believe and joining
together to march. And yes, it is not enough in and of itself, but I don't
know any better way to show people that — and I will say authoritarians want you to think you're alone. They want you to think you're powerless….

And this is the antidote to that."

@wdlindsy they want us to feel alone and scared. So every social attendance fights against the fascists. Even here.
I don't get out much, but I make a point of hitting the farmer's market every week, because i socialize with several vendors while I do my shopping, and once or twice a month I have lunch at a local pub that is owned by a sweet couple of women. Plus they are the only place around here that has hard kombucha on tap and a very eclectic menu. I try and make a point of learning peoples' names, at least at the places that I frequent.

I also did the No Kings, and suggested that the Morongo Basin Indivisible (local organization) check out Mastodon.
