Right now, people on the right side of politics are coming together over shared #culture: things like traditions, values, and ways of life.

People on the left side of politics are coming together over shared #ideas and beliefs about how society should change.

@paninid interesting take 🤔
wasn't it like every right wing movement ever saying things about "ohh the so much greater past we once had"?
I read something from Jason S.... - I wanna say Statham but that's def wrong - who said it's a typical trope of fascists to claim a better/more natural/pure/traditional past even tho that image is about a past that has never happened

but what's with way of life (think socialism/communism/etc) for leftists? And aren't fake traditonal pasts also ideas after all

@paninid I'm mad tired and not native english so maybe I'm missing the point here
if so please educate✌️

@onni

Supposedly conservatives yearn for a past that never existed.

Progressives agitate for future that cannot exist.

@paninid
Jason Stanley! I remembered the name.

I beg to differ just because I need to for my own peace of mind: a peaceful and inklusive future WILL exist ✨️one day far away✨️

but I get what you're saying now
