Using SSH with .local local network local names is sweet.
Accessing my Debian system’s .local address fails periodically and I’ve had to restart it to get it working again.
A restart is such a pain, so I dug into what was responsible: Multicast Dynamic Name Server (or mDNS).
But how does one restart a random network service? On Debian, I found Avahi Daemon.
‘sudo systemctl restart avahi-daemon’
That’s all it took!
