I feel like I did in February and March 2020, only this time, it's about the war in Iran rather than a novel virus. Big things are coming, and too few care to acknowledge or believe it.

In February and March 2020, I was one of a few people warning what the “novel coronavirus” was about to do. People wouldn't (or couldn't) listen because no one could conceive of businesses closing, conferences canceled, or hospitals bursting.

While I did my first Covid-induced major shopping haul for basic foodstuff around 20 Feb 2020, I have the impression that this current crisis shouldn't last as long. Because it can be influenced by people.

Maybe that's just my naive hope.

@knud @augieray the covid crisis was most certainly influenced by people! I’m referring to we collectively responded (not suggesting any lab leak BS)

@dgodon @augieray

Yes, it was, but even optimal decisions would still have led to a long line of follow-up impact, mainly because the virus doesn't just go away.

Here, the whole shipping could start again within an hour, as would bombing crucial infrastructure.
