Yesterday, over 500,000 people marched in Central London in what was the biggest defiance of far right politics

You will hear all most next to nothing about this in the MSM

Zero stories in the #BBCNews app today

But you can read the story of people whose skin "is falling off" (story # 4)

Can't argue with those news priorities.

Thousands gather for anti far-right march in London

Organisers of the Together Alliance march say 500,000 people attended but a police estimate put the figure closer to 50,000.

@LaD_Hallo @TCatInReality look at the bias in this

The 4th paragraph is bold text and talks about 100,000 marchers

Yesterday's march is described as tens of 1,000s

@Geri @TCatInReality Ok, moving the goalposts, I get it. The BBC has high standards in reporting and is compared to many private news outfits, relatively independent. I think we can be happy here in Europe that we still have public broadcasters.

@LaD_Hallo @TCatInReality I am sorry to say. Once we would believe that the BBC has high standards of reporting but that has been proven to be not true for Example, a 2025 study by the Centre for Media Monitoring (CfMM), which analyzed over 35,000 pieces of content, concluded that the BBC's reporting was systematically biased in favor of Israel

Also. ...

I could share much

BBC Gives Israeli Deaths 33 Times More Coverage, New Study Reveals

An analysis of over 35,000 broadcast segments and articles found that the BBC referenced the 7 October attacks in at least 40% of its coverage - but only 0.5% of articles referenced Israel’s decades of occupation and violence against Palestinians. Harriet Williamson reports.

@Geri @TCatInReality And conservatives say it has a left wing bias. I have seen some excellent Gaza footage by the BBC, showing the consequences of Isreali bombings in horrible detail. Public broadcasters aren't perfect, but there is much more accountability and that is valuable. It is little bit like the parties in democracy, they are never really great, but the alternative is way, way worse.
@LaD_Hallo @TCatInReality no, you are missing the point. It was an objective serious piece of academic research
@Geri @TCatInReality By the Centre for Media Monitoring (CfMM) - which is a group with close links to Islamism (results of a short internet search). That is no university and I am sure if we looked into the study design it would show some interesting tweaks. Don't get me wrong I believe that most western media have a pro Israel bias, but I still think of the BBC as a very trustworthy source overall.

@LaD_Hallo @TCatInReality

What about this then

@Geri @TCatInReality

Ah, now the Beeb has an anti Israel bias, I got it. You tell me the BBC is not credible but you present me with links from the most dubious outfits which you apparently find more trustworthy (without investing ten seconds into checking the source). I should probably find that a bit funny but I don't, because that is how populism is winning.

@LaD_Hallo @TCatInReality that is such a tenuous connection that the Telegraph has discovered it's quite risible.

Irrespective, returning back to that first article, tbe original post, see how they present one side in heavy emboldened text - for no apparent syntactic reason

@Geri @TCatInReality I am not sure what you are referring to, the bit which is underlined? Looks like the reason is an embedded link. There are a couple more later on in the article.
@LaD_Hallo @TCatInReality oh, it doesn't matter, Dipper. I think I'll just leave this here and suggest being mindful. Take care xx
