I stopped watching Strange New Worlds after season one, so I have started from the beginning again.

I can live with the different appearance of the ship and the tech, but I have a real problem with the food.

Pike is in the kitchen cooking real food all the time.

WHERE ARE THE MULTICOLORED CUBES!

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds

I saw the Lower Decks crossover on that show but this time I noticed that they kept live action Boimler's hair purple!
Boimler just made a "great hair" joke to Pike!

Just met the new Scotty!

#StrangeNewWorlds S2 E10

I have a problem with the Gorn. Not that it's not a guy in a rubber suit, the creatures are scary.

It's that if TOS Kirk never heard of them, how does the whole Pike universe know about them?

Great threatening aliens, could have called them something else.

I do like their lizard space suits!

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S2 E10

They just showed Pike's curved hair brush and made a joke about all of his hair products!

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E2

And we get (hopefully) non robot Roger Korby!

#StarTrek #StrangenewWorlds S3E2

Ooops. Roger is a dog!

And Q is "Trelane's" dad!

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E2

Space plant zombies!

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E3

Space plant KLINGON zombies!

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E3

Holo Kirk is really leaning into Shatnerisms! I love the colors!

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E4 A Space Adventure Hour

Some first class Shatner bashing going on!

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E4

The bloopers during end credits ARE FABULOUS!

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E4

So this Spock is a real horndog! On his second attempt at mating with a hooman!

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E5

My advice? Don't go into underground caverns with Dr Roger Korby.

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E5

It appears to be Schrodinger's Labyrinth! With Ghost Ghorns...

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E5

Scotty saves the day!

Trapped the monster in a Leggs Egg!

Carol Kane steals the show though.

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3E5

@SecularJeffrey Oh I missed those! Thx. I'm going to go look for them.

@cherizilla

They were the fake bloopers from the fake scifi show featured in the holodeck episode S3E4

@SecularJeffrey The Gorn are nightmare fuel in SNW. ๐Ÿ™€

It's that if TOS Kirk never heard of them, how does the whole Pike universe know about them?

I'd tell you but it would be a spoiler if you haven't gotten there yet.

@alex

Thanks! Still working through S2.

@alex @SecularJeffrey

I did a toot in response to someone being impressed by the SNW Gorn.

(I am not being paid by the Gorn to post this.)

@rzeta0 as a very brief summary, these reasons :- Andromeda's Magog Ridley Scott's Alien franchise As a survivor and security personnel, shall I brief the crew on the Gorn's capabilities and strategies? Nah! (Blame trauma!) unexplained growth or they-eat-each-other super-aggressive and territorial but then they have developed(?) their own space travel methods because they are also super-intelligent and overcome their territoriality to work together in the aerospace and weapons industry Rebecca "Newt" Can't detect them. Oh, we can. Hell, yes! I am infected! Lookitem! Alien3 chase-me scene Fighting them ain't so hard! And, now, my disappearance from continuity will be explained by my heroic artistic sacrifice. (I forget his name, the Andorian-offshoot guy) (basically the whole episode pours far too many references into one "creature's" life-cycle and traits)

@miguelpergamon @SecularJeffrey

Regardless, the Gorn Hegemony approves this message. Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™ll send their gratitude... after they finish eating.

Gorn Hegemony

The Gorn Hegemony was the governmental body of the Gorn, a reptilian species first encountered by the United Federation of Planets in the mid-23rd century. The five systems were part of their domain. (ENT: "Bound") The Orion privateer Harrad-Sar had dealings with the Hegemony prior to 2154, but declined to elaborate to the crew of Enterprise NX-01, merely saying "The less said about them, the better." (ENT: "Bound") In the 2230s or 2240s, the Gorn attacked and captured the SS Puget Sound, a...

Memory Alpha

@SecularJeffrey Kirk never says they are gorn. he say the metrons called them that.

โ€œthe creature the Metrons called a Gornโ€. is the exact quote

you could interpret it as he being surprised thy called them that

@sanzky

That is some retro head canon I can live with!

@SecularJeffrey later on the episode
โ€œI'm engaged in personal combat with a creature apparently called a Gorn.โ€

my headcanon is they are two different scpecies called the same
