A friend who grew up in a farm invited us over for dinner, and I got to see his collection of metal model cars, tractors and farm vehicle attachments. None of the models are plastic and has mass I never expected. Turns out he is a speccast fan.

He also is a sci-fi reader. There are boxes full of StarTrek books under the shelves.
