Just spent a few hours fixing a baffling networking issue, resetting and reconfiguring devices, etc., only to find that I'd actually just plugged something into the wrong port 🤦‍♂️
@Bitquark If it makes you feel any better (it makes me feel better any time I’m feeling imposter syndrome), many moons ago our principal network engineer, a CCIE, sat next to me and one day I could see him getting more and more flummoxed. Looking worried, occasionally asking odd things like “are service desk swamped?”. After a couple of hours I asked what was wrong. He needed to make changes to the core switches but couldn’t reach it so everything should be down.
@Bitquark I reached across and plugged his network cable in and asked if things were better.
