Okay, i'm making a separate post for visibility on this -

Someone uploaded some rare light pen drivers to Google Drive, then ascended to the astral plane. The Google Drive link is now dead.

There is one wayback machine snapshot, which gives me hope that maybe, wayback machine has the files too - but the page javascript doesn't work and I can't figure out how to derive the actual content links.

just putting this out there in case anyone has done this before - is any of this stuff retrievable?

Light Pen Info - Google Drive

@gloriouscow

Summary says it never stored the zip files on that page, unfortunately.

@gloriouscow Which one are you looking at? Maybe viewing source and getting the .zip file name, then searching for that file name may help?

@c64whiz all of them

the disk images are the most important though. The thing is they're all just modern names the uploader made up, so there are no other hits

Give other search engines a try too:

Mojeek often gives "off the beaten path" results.

@torsten @c64whiz I have that, but it is for a different generation of board.
FT-156 Light Pen 3.x

These are drivers and sample programs for use with the FTG Data Systems FT-156 light pen. This is a light pen that attaches directly to an IBM Color Graphics Adapter card.

hot shit, i think this is actually it. Thanks!

@torsten @c64whiz i think we just literally doubled the number of known light pen demos

@gloriouscow @torsten

Do you have an Internet Archive acct? If so, get 'em up there. If not, I'm willing to help.

@c64whiz @torsten yes in good time. I have bought about half of the light pens on ebay, we have disks to image and manuals to scan
@gloriouscow @c64whiz Awesome! Archive all the things! 🤩
@torsten @c64whiz except maybe the poetry I wrote in high school
