contrasocialHe's trying to make an analogy I think, comparing the pen to something, but as usual he gets sidetracked because he realizes there's an opportunity to tell a story about himself so he switches over to that, but then realizes he has to find a way to bring it back to whatever point he was trying to make with his analogy.
