@SeaFury That's just sensible. I wouldn't want to try it either. It's already slightly scary meeting big trucks in a small car, never mind a scooter.

You could go over the mountains. Go up to Great Lake and then down to the Derwent Valley

@ghouston That road has a stretch on it that has winds and constant up hill, I once went down to 30 kph on that stretch because 125cc, but it can be done, just slower!!! @chestas @ibk @kodiacbear

@SeaFury @chestas @ibk @kodiacbear yeah, I once rented a car and drove from Burnie to Bicheno via Scottsdale, and it took a lot longer than I expected. The road down the east coast had some fun spots too.

@ghouston @SeaFury @chestas @kodiacbear When I have visitors from interstate, it doesn't matter how many times I tell them "your Tassie road trip will take longer than you think" they still end up saying "that road trip took longer than we thought".
I like the sections of road that start with a "Winding Road for next X km" but the individual bends don't have any advisory speeds posted until you get a "25 km/h" one and you think "this must be **serious**".

@ibk @SeaFury @chestas @kodiacbear it seems that the shortest route between Arthur River and Strathgordon is something like 9.5 hours. I suppose that's about as bad as it gets.
