Report from the No Kings demonstration in little Klamath Falls, Oregon (Population 22,000):
I'd estimate the crowd at about 400-500, or roughly 2.5% of the total population.
That seems pretty good to me.
Since it's in good-old-boy country, we had our share of diesel engine drivers blowing black exhaust at us -- known as "rolling coal."
Entirely my impression, but people who honked in support were several multiples more than the grumps. 7 to 10 times more, I'd estimate.
Lots of great posters and spirits were high.
One guy even arrived in a pickup truck full of placards that people could borrow, if they hadn't brought their own.
I've seen people -- even on Mastodon -- say that demonstrations without a focus don't lead anywhere. But people must do what they can with what they have where they are.
Then I believe they can find their next steps, having gathered the courage and support to take next steps.

@Guillotine_Jones @superball I live in a red region of the country, and I often feel pretty alone in believing what I do. So it is encouraging to be able to go out and demonstrate with a big group of people who also think this matters. This protest isn't the only action we are doing, but it helps with morale, and it may give other people the courage to say "Hey this matters to me too and I want to do something about it."
