Politics, philosophies, and practices adopted purely for their countercultural or "edge" properties are a normal part of growing up, if an ugly one.

Much like your teenage plumage, you're meant to eventually outgrow them. Pick a core belief you haven't critically examined in a while and write a page or two on why it's so damn important to you.

Then check if any of that is materially true, if applicable.

To be honest that's how I see people my age and younger who are trapped in the right-of-center headspace: overgrown owlets who for some reason are trying to fly around and hunt half-clad in their baby down.
