I just want to point out how nuts this framing is. Ds had unified control of govt in 2020! they r winning every special election that is not nailed down! the idea that they desperately need to find some way to win elections is preposterous! they have no trouble winning elections!

I am not a fan of Piker but he is not some sort of existential threat to D electoral prospects, and suggesting he is when Trump stands up there every day in the oval office spewing absolutely horrific hate speech is just absurd.

Ds win a lot of elections; they do not win all elections because you can't win all elections in a democracy. the challenge is how to crush fascism so losing elections is not an existential crisis for democracy.

Fascism only grows in the wreckage of failed republics. Fascism always says it arises in opposition to communism of a sort - but we see what the scheming industrialists and bankers have achieved.

I cannot help but feel the USA has died. Even if everyone miraculously gathers the dry bones of what Trump will leave behind, it's as dead as Lincoln.

We can do this. Big Tent Democrats.
