So for the past seven days I’m trying something new: after I wake up I avoid going on my phone for at least 30 minutes. So instead of using my socials and news to wake up, I get up and go for a nice long walk.

This way I try to avoid a cortisol spike early in the day. And it works! Where normally I would self soothe by doomscrolling (essentially), I found out yesterday this has cut my daily screentime by 40%!

@Anneke Nice! I find not bringing my phone to the bedroom improves -everything-. I find time to read, I sleep on time, I wake up more relaxed... and then after a while I forget about my policy. I should re-implement it.
@willowpje haha I was patting myself on the back for reading a book last night. Only problem was that I was wayyy too into it and I turned off the lights at 3AM 🫣
Weird how sometimes we forget about these things huh? I was transferring myself 5 euro each day for doing something right. But I forgot what that was. And also to transfer myself the 5 euro. 😬 (probably some stupid diet)
@Anneke yes! I need to limit my reading to one or two chapters a night. Everything or nothing huh ;)
@willowpje you have the self discupline I so sorely lack I see ;)
@Anneke @willowpje If you're determined enough, then even reading can be turned into a vice!
