@dragonfrog If you want to be serious about this, with the US racist psych then yes it could be a factor but, unlikely. A group of school girls is not a debilitating target, unless they were beside a significant Iranian base of operations. Then it's labelled collateral damage and ignored. At 2M$ a pop they don't want to waste it blowing up school girls as the far left would have it. Propaganda works both ways.
@waitingforthesign they were beside a significant base - it was either next door to a base or actually the on-base school for the children of soldiers. My understanding is the former but I could be mistaken.
If I'm going to get conspiracist about it, my thinking would be, it was done to ensure there would be no negotiated ceasefire. You make sure the enemy society & military is as angry at you as possible, then no amount of "decapitation strikes" will produce a regime inclined to peace.
