Hey #MSP #fediverse
We need to rehome Socks the Cat. (Mr. Cat)
Neutered healthy male, ~10, shy around strangers but getting really social as he’s gotten older. Claws but never clawed a couch. Loves fleece anything and ziploc bag zippers (for chewing.) Comes when called or three taps on the food can.

He does one zoomy and calls it a day. Can pull or push open non-latched cabinet doors but is only motivated to do it when no one’s watching.

We will miss him but the 3 day drive would be cruel.

@BenHM3 I’ll strive to not seem bossy: we’ve moved with cats, flown with cats. One curled up and dozed without even a pet carrier. Another got a mild daily sedative tablet from our veterinarian. Leashed to avoid runaway incidents.

Which isn’t to say the long drive isn’t epic. Unforgettable. See… uh… Eventually, cat must poo. We’d made a small cat litter tray; I’ve since seen pet stores sell disposable box/liner/sand kits. Just know: that poo’s stank will have you slowing to a ‘windows down’ speed and gasping. But: pull off a few mins later, scoop, zoom.

@BenHM3 the first such move, kitty Ben yowled for a couple minutes ahead of both #2’s. Like “I don’t like this. You’re not going to like this. But I gots no choice, bruh.”
@cascheranno @BenHM3 I did a San Diego to Oregon drive with two very untrained and neurotic cats. The mesh playpen enclosure was a lifesaver although the one yowled continuously during the drive.
