Windows users experience 7.5 times more app freezes and 2.2 times more app crashes (where the app needs to be fully rebooted) than Mac users, according to new data: https://www.pcmag.com/news/its-true-windows-pcs-may-actually-crash-more
@PCMag yeah, despite some of the headaches associated with it and swearing i never would i had to bite the bullet and go to a Linux distro. Windows 11 was just getting utterly terrible to use. I hate that despite having a 9070xt gpu i don't get access to some of the more advanced FSR redstone features and that some older but still popular games such as the Witcher 3 are not stable with Proton but overall its been a much more stable experience.
@shadow125 @PCMag TBH Mac runs on controlled hardware whereas Windows and Linux are wild West.
@mihamarkic @PCMag oh totally understood there, almost zero variables allowing for tighter optimizations. Main issue with windows is that so much of it and the surrounding drivers and software are now so heavily vibe coded with ai that its just a freaking mess. Linux software, at least for now, is still generally coded by someone in a dark closet who doesn't even use a DTE and is straight command line lol.
