Okay. And…?

Alright alright, I want to wrap a negative comment back to a point. All other comments in this thread are going to be moping huffy attitude towards Gearbox being jerks, Borderlands sucking now, etc. No disagreement, but also: What is the point? I just came back from PAX East, looking at a good dozen indie game devs eagerly seeking their next source of attention. And here people are filling the front page with junk about games they don’t like getting railed?

New plan! Whoever’s reading this: Post about a cool-looking game you’ve heard about that you’d like to see get positive impressions! Don’t just let Borderlands get negative attention - let it sink.

I posted a negative comment about Paradox games (stopped playing them because of DLC spam) in reference to Borderlands DLC.

In my defence, I post about indie games all the time on the Fediverse, even had random people message me thanking me for helping them discover some cool game.

I will stop with the flexing. :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Agreed.
I love Indie Games so much.
They are not perfect, but they are better then Most AAA Games.
But tbh the only good AAA studio(in my Opinion) is Valve.

I would add CDPR and Firaxis to that list. Although I would argue Firaxis has almost become a victim of its own success. I still play Civ 4 and 5, because with mods there is an infinite amount of playability.

The Civ 4 Dune total conversion is a lot of fun and it’s still getting updated (albeit these days it’s just new art from the movies).

Technically Firaxis is a subsidiary to 2k, but sure.
Gearbox is now owned by Take 2 interactive btw.

Recently started playing Metal Eden

It’s rad! Not announced at gdc this year or anything but it’s been a lot of fun messing around in this game that feels like an amalgamation of Doom 2016 and Titanfall.

METAL EDEN on Steam

An adrenaline-rush sci-fi FPS. A HYPER UNIT ASKA is sent on a suicide mission to rescue citizens' COREs from MOEBIUS, an orbital city turned into a deadly trap. Dive into cybernetic warfare, face the ENGINEERS, and uncover the secrets of METAL EDEN.

Probably because it used to be good and this is peoples way of mourning something they love. I wouldn’t necessarily want to invalidate that.

I do also love indie games so I want to add this. This is 5 years old but I’ve been digging Dark Diety. It’s a fire emblem clone that scratches an itch. It has its problems but it’s still a lot of fun.
