Charlie ChapmanDoes Spotlight constantly break for everyone else?
I feel like every week or so I have to force a re-index or it refuses to show me apps anymore for inexplicable reasons.

@stephenrobles Not sure what you mean? Like you CMD 1 to search apps directly? Mine still doesn't find them when it gets in this state.

Michael Bech Hansen@charliemchapman i updated to macOS 26.4 recently, and have blamed that for no longer being able to launch apps via Spotlight… dunno if thats coincidental 🤷♂️
@__mbh__ Maybe it does align with running updates? I haven’t identified a pattern other than it’s broken often enough that I never trust it to actually work
Hunter C. Meyer@charliemchapman I’ve also had lots of problems with it. Everytime I hear people talk about how great the new Spotlight is I get jealous that mine isn’t working 🤣

26.4 seems improved for me — finds apps, but now theres is strange ~5s delay before finding a document.

Everything else has always been glitchy or broken for me since 2009
I only search for stuff *inside* applications.
