Beckett: Oh! Not long ago I read a book about clocks, and the writer believes it was possible to use the same technology to build other things - including life-sized metal people. Can you imagine? Clockwork men! The image is incredible! And if someone can find a way to use clockwork technology beyond clocks, imagine the possibilities! That one hypothesis could change society as we know it. All it needs is an inventor to do it!
