RussellCatch-22: Mastodon is largely an echo chamber of people who believe vaguely the same things. Few on Mastodon need convincing; at this point it's mostly virtue signaling and purity tests.
While some folks are just glomping onto trendy topics, fair weather allies, if you're trying to reach an audience of people who don't already believe they should eat the rich, where would they go instead?

I hate Fakebook. I use it because there are people on there in the disc golf community so I can communicate with them. That being said, it is a cesspool. It is full of trolls and liars. The other day I reported a post that said that Democrats should be "filled with lead" and it came back that it did not violate their community standards. So at this point in time they have no community standards. I do block the ads on there and I also have a small friends list. Fuck them!
