🗓️ Exactly one month ago on Saturday morning, 28 February, #Iran was plunged into digital darkness as authorities cut off access to the global internet.

After four full weeks, 672 hours, the blackout remains in effect, violating Iranians' right to communicate and stay informed.

@netblocks isn't their president dead? so why won't they restore the damn net?
the authorities are dumb
@patricus That’s not how that works, just because the leaders are dead, doesn’t mean that things go to whatever they want to. Behind all that technology there’s decades of control. You can’t just flip on a switch and be like OK, we’re back for good this time. Iran has a sophisticated cyber hacking group around, and if I read correctly, that country is designed to operate, even after the leaders gone I’m sure they plan for this sort of thing. Also, I’m not saying I know everything about this country, I don’t live there, but that’s just what I’ve heard around the Internet.
